ALB Magnets is an magnets company supplying all shapes and sizes of Neodymium Rare Earth magnets, including cylindrical or rod shaped magnets.
We have grade N35 up to the strongest N52 magnet grade available.
Our cylinder magnets are defined by the diameter, if it's equal to, or smaller than the height.
If the height is smaller than the diameter we call it a disc magnet.
Cylinder rod magnets are weaker than disc shaped ones due to their smaller magnetic surface area.
Some of our customers use small cylinder magnets to make magnetic locks for jewellery boxes, some also use tiny rod magnets to make bracelet or necklace magnetic closures or locks.
Our powerful cylindrical Rare Earth magnets also have been used in the mining industry to detect and separate metal and ferrous particles underground, as well as being commonly used in industrial applications such as rotating machinery, meters, instruments, sensing devices, and holding applications.
We supply magnets as tiny as 1mm in diameter to 50mm in diameter, and from 1.5mm to 50mm in height.
With our various sizes of this disc magnets in stock, Frenergy Magnets is very popular with hobbyists, and the metalworking industry.
Most of our magnets are Nickel-coated (Ni) but some are coated in Gold (Au) and Parylene C.
Nickel-coating is extremely durable, and shiny silver in colour.
Parylene C coating is very good for magnets used in water environments as this coating is made for anti-corrosiveness and water-resistantence, unlike Nickel or Gold.
We customise Parylene C coated magnets for our customer who work in food and beverage industries, as well as in marine ecology.
Most of our listed cylindrical magnets can withstand temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius, unless otherwise stated.
Should you require higher temperature grade magnets, please contact us for custom magnets.
We offer free shipping Australia wide on orders over $10000.

ALB strong neodymium cylinder magnets work best for applications that require two to three times more force than thinner disc magnets of equal diameter.
For this reason, our powerful cylinder magnets are often used in construction, engineering and other industrial projects;
in heavy duty model building, jewelry design, arts, crafts and woodworking projects;
for hanging artwork, signs and banners in galleries, schools, retail and trade show booths;
in speakers, medical devices and other magnetic therapy products;
and in science and research projects.
Neodymium Magnets N52 Super Strong
Previously I made a knife rack with 1.26x 1/8in N52 magnets from albmagnets.com.
This time I purchased some cheaper 1.26 x 1/8in from D**MAG and 1.26 x 0.06in (1/16in) from Z***ma magnets to use in a new knife holder.
I then did a crude comparison with a scale to see how much weight each magnet could lift with only the narrow edge of key ring in contact with the magnet.
This 1.26 x 1/8in from albmagnets.com could lift 9~13oz while the others could lift ~6.5 and 3.7 oz for D**MAG and Z***ma respectively.
This difference was noticeable even without using a scale.
The two cheaper brands are most likely the same N grade based on the approximate halving of force going from 1/8 to 1/16 in thickness.
Regardless they do not appear to be the same N grade as the albmagnets.com one.
While These can't reliably support a knife alone, I can use them as the secondary magnet to support the tip of the knife....maybe.
FYI for people new to rare earth magnets: be careful.
Rare earth magnets are shatter prone, this is a normal aspect, and the thinner a magnet is the easier it is to break.
All of mine arrived in perfect shape though.
